“Any poem I wrote in English was a matter of impulse—solely writing down whatever it was that pressed. Hence, it was always some chance occurrence—a stroke of luck, if I may claim it to be […] an outpouring of words, not so random but almost compulsory […] call it a fluke—one relished, descried, or suffered!”
Fluke is a collection of Aytek Sever’s poems written originally in English. Some of these poems were published earlier in Sever’s Hiperbor (2018), Siòn (2019), and Moto Perpetuo (2021). The present collection, organized chronologically, also includes seven poems from Hiperbor translated by Sever from Turkish into English.
Aytek Sever is a poet and translator. He lives in Turkey and writes in Turkish and, occasionally, in English.
